Althought Elche de la Sierra is the biggest town of the Segura's range, it's really a small town situated in the southheast of Spain, into the province of Albacete and next to Hellín.Elche has only 4.000 inhabitants, 3.500 in the town and 500 distributed among all the villages, not many inhabitants for 220 Km2.Tolive in Elche is nice, because of the food, nature, people and a fantastic tranquility, ecological bread and very fresh vegetables. My town has three urban gardens, and it's surrounded of mountains. It'snice to walk along its streets and squares to admire Saint Quiteria church, the town hall, and todrink water of its drinking fountains. At Easter, the people go out dressed in Nazarene with a tunic and a hood. The scuptures of the present processions are not very good. The former scuptures were burned in the Spanish Civil War.Elche de la Sierra is famous for bulls and for the carpets of sawdust. I like living in Elche because I knoww the people, I have family there, and above all, because I like calm.
